Tharisa continues to break records in platinum and chrome production

Tharisa PLC (LON:THS) produced a record 39,500 ounces of platinum group metals during the three months to June 2018, up 3.4% on the previous quarter.

Production of chrome concentrate also hit a record, at 376,300 tonnes, up 2.6% on the quarter.

Platinum group metal recoveries were at a record 85.6%, well ahead of the 80% target, while chrome recoveries were at a record 67.8%.

During the period Tharisa also acquired interests providing a low cost entry into highly prospective properties in Zimbabwe.

“Tharisa has illustrated maturity and depth by delivering another record quarter while embarking on its growth strategy through development and exploration programmes,” said chief executive Pheovos Pouroulis.

“We look forward to delivering on our production guidance for the full financial year.”
