The company owns 100% of a proprietary carbon-strengthened concrete additive known as EdenCrete®.
It enhances a wide range of performance characteristics of concrete thereby delivering stronger, tougher, more durable and longer lasting concrete.
Longer term field trial results
The last update the company had was on 4 May 2018 where it outlined encouraging results from an EdenCrete field trial.
Eden received the first longer term results from the field trial of EdenCrete by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) for possible future use in GDOT’s new concrete road construction, that was undertaken in March 2017.
The trial is being conducted on a state highway in Comer County in Georgia and involved the addition of EdenCrete to concrete on 73 metres of new highway.
The project took nearly a year to complete
Twelve months after the concrete had been laid but before the section of the highway was re-opened to traffic, testing was undertaken.
Results show a material improvement over standard concrete.
This is an encouraging development and may accelerate the possible approval in Georgia of the use of EdenCrete in the construction of new roads and highways.
Georgia’s annual budget for this currently exceeds US$700 million per annum.
