Orion Health Group Ltd (ASX:OHE) is refocusing its health technology solutions with the aim of more closely serving its customers and markets.
As such, Orion Health will reorganise its global teams and resources into three main business sectors - Rhapsody, Population Health and Hospitals.
The company will be reporting by these sectors in the 2019 financial year.
Strategic review leads to restructure
A strategic review of the company’s global business led to the business restructure.
This will result in increased investment in some areas of the business and redeployment or reduction of resources in others.
Chief financial officer Mark Tisdel said: “The focus on three main businesses allows our R&D teams and support services to shift closer to the market and the customer.
“As a result, we can now deliver greater support to our customers and expect further commercial and operational improvements to flow from this.”
Population Health suite now in the cloud
After more than three years in development, Orion Health has migrated its Population Health suite to the cloud with five customers live on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) hosted solution.
Remaining customers are expected to migrate to AWS over the next year.
R&D investments
Orion Health has also completed a number of customer commitments and new R&D investments.
These include big-data storage, search and analytics for health data, Rhapsody-as-aService (RaaS), a cloud integration engine offering and several releases of its hospital administration software.
They are now being deployed across the South Island of New Zealand.
Reducing costs
As a consequence of the restructuring and culmination of the R&D investments, Orion Health plans to reduce annual operating costs by $25-$30 million.
It also aims to deliver greater operating efficiencies and continue its drive to sustainable profitability.
