Navarre Minerals Limited (ASX:NML) has started a major drilling program targeting gold at five projects in central and western Victoria.

Up to 25,000 metres of drilling will be carried out over the next six months with the majority at the Irvine and Tandarra projects to further define the extent of mineralisation.

The exploration program represents a major investment and 2018 will be Navarre’s most expansive field season to date.

First-pass aircore drilling of circa 1,200 metres has started at the Stawell Granite Gold Project and drilling is expected to start at Irvine Gold Project within two weeks.

There are 8,000 metres of aircore, reverse circulation and diamond drilling planned at Irvine targeting Stawell-style mineralisation.

Drilling resumes at Tandarra

Diamond and reverse circulation drilling recently resumed at the Tandarra Gold Project, which is funded and managed by Catalyst Metals Ltd (ASX:CYL) under a farm-out agreement.

Up to 12,000 metres of drilling will be carried out targeting repetitions and extensions of Bendigo/Fosterville style high-grade gold.

First drilling at St Arnaud and Glenlyle

First-pass programs at the St Arnaud and Glenlyle projects will start progressively in coming months.

The former will comprise 2,500 metres of aircore drilling and the latter 1,800 metres of first-pass and infill aircore AC and RC drilling.

Navarre is searching for gold deposits in the extension of a corridor of rocks that host the Stawell and Ararat goldfields.
