Assisting growers in their decision making process
The CropLogic analytical platform gathers crop data via in-field sensors coupled with satellite communications to predict outcomes and optimise field productivity.
Skilled agronomists help present this information to the grower and assist them in their critical decision making process.
Demonstrated in December 2017 in Pasco, Washington State, the prototype was received with positive user support.
Helping growers identify fields with issues
The app includes an aerial view of the field showing the location of the in-field sensors, a history of irrigation patterns and soil moisture trends, and other information relevant to the grower.
Growers can immediately identify fields with issues such as inadequate water supply from a single view.
Alerts and status are configurable either by the user themselves, or with the assistance of one of CropLogic’s agronomists.
The underlying delivery platform utilises Amazon cloud services
The underlying delivery platform is designed to be both scalable and fault-tolerant, and utilises various cloud services provided by Amazon.
By using a major provider, CropLogic is able to locate data and computational resources closer to the end user, reducing latency and lowering costs.
The CropLogic system was commercially launched into Washington State, U.S. In 2017.
CropLogic is currently servicing circa 60,000 acres or 30% of the potato market in Washington State, U.S.
The ongoing development of the app is aimed at releasing a reliable and sophisticated platform in April 2018.
