Pacific Star Network Ltd's (ASX:PNW) shares are in pre-open in afternoon trade, following the ASX granting the company a trading halt.

Pacific Star is preparing to reveal details of a proposed merger transaction and placement.

During financial year 2017, group revenue fell 8% to $22.1 million.

The biggest impact on this number was publishing revenue which slumped 29% to $6.6 million.

The halt will remain in place until the opening of trade on Friday 5th January 2018, or earlier if an announcement is made to the market.
