Mobilicom lists on the ASX; eyes commercial drone sector

The company already has about 30 clients across Europe, Asia and the U.S.

Mobilicom (ASX:MOB) commenced trading on the ASX on 2 May 2017 following the completion of an initial public offer which raised $7.5 million at $0.20 per share.

Israel-based Mobilicom has developed a technology which allows wireless communication using a secure private network without the need for infrastructure.

Mobilicom's core technology merges 4G with mobile mesh networking to create solutions for the maritime, transportation, disaster relief, security, and surveillance sectors.

It embeds wireless communication devices in things like public transport and offshore oil rigs, and the units can communicate with each other across a range of up to 50 kilometres.

The company already has about 30 clients across Europe, Asia and the U.S., including large multinationals.

Mobilicom will use the funds from the IPO to grow its marketing and sales activities in the government and enterprise sector, as well as expand into the commercial sector.

The company is targeting the rapidly growing and evolving commercial drones and robotics market, with the launch of the SkyHopper brand.

The SkyHopper family of products will deliver long-range communication that supports multiple transmission modes and enables real-time full HD video streaming.

The first product to be launched is the SkyHopper PRO UAV Data Link, which addresses applications in the mining industry, inspection of infrastructure such as wind turbines, and delivery drones.

The commercial drones sector is expected to generate a revenue of US$5 billion by 2020.
