Forte Energy says JORC resource for Firawa uranium project on track for completion in 2 weeks
Results from the final 36 samples of the 5,800 metres resource drilling programme have led to improvements in several of the intercepts of triuranium octoxide reported previously.
The drilling programme, which was completed in January, followed on from initial drilling at the project in May 2007, which identified a potentially significant zone of uranium mineralisation over a 2 kilometres strike length. This zone was the subject of the recently completed resource drilling programme which has returned excellent grades and widths of U3O8.
The Firawa project is the most advanced of Forte Energy’s three uranium exploration projects in Guinea and the delineation of a maiden uranium resource estimate is an important step towards the company’s ultimate development and production goals, the company added.
