Segue recently also made a lithium-tantalum discovery

Segue Resources (ASX:SEG) has identified multiple gold targets at its Barlee Gold Project located in the renown Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia.

The targets were identified from the recently completed geochemical sampling program, which was combined with litho‐structural interpretation and historical exploration.

This resulted in a total of 14 targets being identified.

Segue will commence soil sampling at the targets within two weeks which will be followed by magnetic surveys in April.

The work programs are aimed to be completed by June 2017 and, upon the tenements being granted, will be able to start drilling as soon as approvals are obtained.

Background

Segue is a mineral explorer with six projects exploring for nickel, gold and lithium in Western Australia

The project portfolio includes:

- Nickel: Plumridge Nickel JV with MMG Ltd (HKG:1208);
- Nickel: Deralinya project;
- Nickel: Pardoo JV with Caeneus Minerals Ltd (ASX:CAD);
- Gold: Plumridge gold project;
- Gold: Barlee Gold Project; and
- Lithium: Gascoyne lithium (includes JV with Zeus Resources Ltd (ASX:ZEU)).

Barlee Gold Project

Segue has a 100% interest in the 1,000 square kilometre Barlee gold project, which covers the Evanston, South Elvire and Yerligee Greenstone Belts which straddle the Evanston and Yuinmery Shear Zone.

The recently completed work program and targeting exercise has led Segue to apply for two additional tenements of 240 square kilometres expanding Segue’s footprint.

A total of 24 rock chip samples were recently collected from the Rainy Rocks prospect, over a strike length of 100 metres.

Highlights included 23.7 g/t gold, 5.6 g/t gold, 4.2 g/t gold and 4.0 g/t gold.

Half of the samples from the 24 rock chip sample program returned assay results of over 1.0 g/t gold.

Recent lithium‐caesium-tantalum discovery

Segue recently discovered significant lithium‐caesium-tantalum (LCT) mineralisation at the Reid Well prospect within the Gascoyne Lithium Project in Western Australia.

Assays from the first batch of rock chips from Reid Well exhibited 1.02% lithium oxide and 530ppm tantalum pentoxide.

The rock chips were collected as part of a detailed soil sampling program which was designed to follow up on the high priority Reid Well stream sediment anomaly.

Segue is currently completing a petrologic study on the results and is also expecting assays from a second batch of 64 samples collected from an adjacent pegmatite outcrop.

In addition to the rock chips, a total of 1,524 soil samples were collected over the greater Reid Well prospect area and the assay results are expected by mid‐April.
