Hazelwood Resources confirms near surface high grade tungsten at Mt Mulgine Hill
Hazelwood Resources (ASX: HAZ) confirmatory drilling at the Mt Mulgine Hill Deposit has confirmed the presence of near surface high grade tungsten mineralisation.
The drilling program was designed to test the current resource estimate and gather information for use in an economic Scoping Study.
The latest highlights are:
- 2 metres at 3.17 % WO3 from 40 metres;
- 34 metres at 0.20 % WO3 from 16 metres; and
- 15 metres at 0.16 % WO3 from 28 metres.
Hazelwood said the results places the project on track to meet the higher confidence required to improve the resource category for the project.
Mt Mulgine currently has a JORC Resource of; 8.2 million tonnes at 0.21% WO3, with a cut-off of 0.1% WO3, of which 76% sits in the Indicated category.
Importantly for the deposit is the near surface nature, with 95% of the resource within 100 metres of the surface.
Hazelwood is now proposing more confirmatory drilling to better de-risk the resource, along with studies to assess the development of Mulgine Hill as a source of feedstock are underway.
Mulgine Hill is one of two known deposits of tungsten at the Mt Mulgine Project, located in the Mid West region of Western Australia.
Historical exploration and evaluation work had been undertaken on the project, including 22,000 metres of drilling and the sinking of shafts and underground drives for metallurgical testwork.
