Spitfire has defined a JORC compliant manganese resource inventory of 2.94Mt @ 7.07% Mn at the Tally-Ho deposit.
Spitfire Resources eyes up thermal coal projects in Tasmania
Spitfire Resources (ASX: SPI) announced that it entered into an agreement to acquire Black Rock Energy, whose assets include an advanced thermal coal project and additional coal exploration properties in Tasmania.Black Rock Energy holds the Langloh Coal Project Avoca Coal Project, Ouse Coal Project and the Sandfly Coal Project. Langloh has 10 million tonnes of JORC compliant inferred thermal coal resource, and is located close to existing infrastructure and multiple deep sea ports. The coal is of medium calorific value, which would make is suitable for export into China and other nearby markets in Asia.
“The proposed acquisition is consistent with Spitfire's focus of developing a portfolio of assets in the carbon steel materials and energy sectors. The Company intends to progress the Langloh asset in parallel with its other core asset, the 80%-owned South Woodie Woodie Manganese Project in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia” the company said.
