Birimian Gold (ASX: BGS) has commenced field work, including detailed auger drilling targeting high priority targets, at its Basawa Gold Project in Liberia.
Drill target definition is underway over high tenor gold anomalies adjacent to extensive artisanal workings at the Before Camp and Newtown prospects.
Work will also follow up on the new zone of structural complexity with anomalous gold in streams defined at Big Suehn Prospect and the potential hardrock gold system highlighted by geological mapping and field traversing at Before Camp.
Basawa covers 1,000 square kilometres of prospective gold terrain in southeastern Liberia.
Regionally, gold mineralisation in the region - including the 3.8 million ounce Dugbe-Joe Village Gold Deposits - occurs in proximity to east-northeast trending structures.
To date, Birimian has identified two such gold-prospective east-northeast -trending structures within the Basawa Gold Project area; the Bafawehn Structure and the Betu Structure.
