Red Fork Energy (ASX: RFE), a US-focused oil and gas exploration and production company, has reported that the Moebius #3-28 well has spudded at the company’s 100% owned and operated West Tulsa project in Oklahoma.

In a statement the company said the well was spudded at 5.15pm (United States Time) on May 25, 2010.

This well, which is a direct offset to Moebius #2-28 well, will be drilled to approximately 3,400 feet with the primary target the Red Fork Sand formation.

The company said all other potential hydrocarbon bearing zones will be sampled and logged prior to production testing.

David Prentice, managing director, said this is the 8th production well to be drilled at the Pawnee Prospect, bringing the total number of wells drilled in this part of the West Tulsa Project area to ten (eight production wells and two water disposal wells).

"Importantly, this extension well will be supported by a new central delivery point and surface infrastructure now under construction and centered around the recently successfully drilled Moebius #2-28 well," Prentice added.
