Nemex Resources (ASX: NXR) has commenced soil sampling for gold and manganese over high-priority aeromagnetic and geological anomalies in Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa.
At the Abengourou Licence, soil sampling is planned over 12 magnetic intrusive targets occurring in a 35km long fault-zone corridor, and at Alepe over a significant structural gold target along-strike of the 20 million ounce Ahafo Gold Mine.
At Dabakala, samples will be taken along 27 kilometres of variably altered, highly sheared volcanic and sedimentary rocks, with previous samples from a 17 kilometre long banded manganese formation currently being assessed.
Results will be released to market over the 5 month program, with first results expected late October.
Côte d’Ivoire is fertile ground for undiscovered gold and base metal deposits, being underexplored relative to neighbouring countries sharing similar geology.
