Manalto Ltd (ASX:MTL) has signed another commercial agreement with AppDirect to sell its social media management product Sóshlr, this time to Telstra (ASX:TLS) customers across Australia.

The agreement follows a similar recently signed deal with Philippines' Globe Telecom (PSE:GLO) allowing Manalto to sell its Sóshlr product to their customers in the Philippines.

Telstra is Australia's largest telecommunications company and this agreement significantly bolsters Manalto’s position as a leading entrant in the social media management space within the Australian market.

The agreement is a result of Sóshlr being formally certified by cloud service marketplace AppDirect, a network reaching around 30 million small businesses worldwide.

AppDirect is a leading cloud service commerce platform, in which Manalto has integrated its Sóshlr product,  that allows end users to browse, purchase and manage subscriptions to cloud services and applications.


Sóshlr is Manalto’s small and medium sized enterprise solution enabling businesses to efficiently manage multiple social media pages from a single dashboard delivering time savings and single visibility of social media activity across Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram.

The purpose-built product is packaged and provisioned for resellers such as service providers, telecommunications and hosting companies, with upsell paths in a range of A$36 to $3,000 per annum.


The opportunity for Manalto when it integrated with the AppDirect marketplace was accessing distribution channels for its Sóshlr product.

The recent commercial agreements with Globe Telecom and Telstra prove that this strategic move to boost sales is progressing well.

Telstra is a tier 1 telecommunications company both on a domestic and international scale, by Telstra choosing to sell Sóshlr, this validates the product as a tier 1 offering and increases the chances other channel partners will choose to offer it.

Globe Telecom and Telstra are two examples of channel partners that AppDirect has unlocked for Manalto; others include Comcast, Deutsche Telekom, ADP, FICO and Hawaiian Telecom.

Furthermore, AppDirect is only one of Manalto's distribution channels for its Sóshlr product.

The company has other significant global channel distribution agreements in place.

Evidence of telecommunication companies increasing their propensity to offer online business applications means Manalto is well positioned to benefit from this thematic.

Manalto has been taking essential steps to secure distribution channels at a global level and importantly, this has shown it has secured channels into Asia, Facebook's fastest growing region.

The company’s business model is supported in a macro context by global trends in social network ad spending, which is expected to grow to US$36 billion by 2017.
