Lithium Australia (ASX:LIT) has been granted a trading halt by the ASX, with its shares placed in pre-open.

The company said it requested the halt pending the appointment of consultants for scoping studies on lithium clays deposits on its Electra Project and lithium clays deposits in north-west Australia.

The halt will remain in place until the opening of trade on Tuesday 29th December 2015, or earlier if an announcement was made to the market.
