Marion Energy (ASX: MAE, MAEO, MAEOA) has had initial gas flows at the Oman 2- 20 well located at its Clear Creek project, Utah.

The company expects production to increase as an electrical submersible has been run into the well bore.

This will happen when the pump draws down the fluid level in the well bore, reducing the back pressure on the reservoir.

Marion Energy anticipates that the fluid level in the well bore will need to be drawn down to about 200 feet above the pump before optimum producing conditions will be achieved.

Gas production is currently fluctuating, but importantly is showing an increasing trend.

Prior to this well being shut in during the latter part of 2009, it was producing at a rate of approximately 250,000 cubic feet of gas per day.
