Arunta Resources (ASX: AJR) has commenced an extensive airborne electro-magnetic survey at its Southern Cross Bore (SXB) IOCG project in the Northern Territory.

The project is located in the emerging Arunta mineral province, and adding to the prospectivity of the region - it contains Kidman Resources (ASX: KDR) Home of Bullion prospect where drilling has recently yielded high-grade copper.

Arunta's survey will cover 40 square kilometres of the 650 square kilometre SXB project at a 150 metre line spacing.

Arunta has previously identified a regional scale, deeply weathered shear zone transecting SXB, and has mapped extensive gold, copper, arsenic and other tracer elements in soils, indicative of potential volcanogenic massive sulphide mineralisation.

Arunta is aiming to identify several deep-seated electromagnetic conductor zones below and proximate to the shear zone to enable accurate drill targeting.

Results from the survey are expected in November.
