CopperCo Limited

CopperCo Limited is a public company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (“ASX”) (“CUO”).  CopperCo commenced copper production from the first of five ore bodies in October 2007 at the Lady Annie Operations (“LAO”) located approximate 120 km north of Mt Isa.  The mine employs the heap leach solvent extraction – electrowinning technology (“SX-EW”) which accounts for approximately 20% of the world’s copper production.  Lady Annie is producing at an annualised rate of 19,000 tonnes per annum (“tpa”) of copper cathode and will increase production to 30,000 tpa early in 2009.

Mineral Securities says independent expert values company at A$2.57 per share

Diversified global resources company, Mineral Securities (ASX: MXX) rose 5% after a report from an KPMG, commissioned by ASX listed CopperCo, placed a 'preferred value' of A$496.4 million, or A$2.57 per share, on the Company. Mineral Securities and CopperCo are in the midst of a merger which will create a new mid-tier natural resources company with assets ranging from grassroots exploration to production across the globe and in a wide range of minerals.

Keith Liddell, CEO of Mineral Securities said:

"This report highlights the value inherent in MinSec's diversified portfolio of investment holdings and resource project interests, including 25% of the Lady Loretta zinc project in north-west Queensland and 100% of the Sappes gold project in Greece. We also note that the valuation does not include any strategic or operational benefits from the proposed CopperCo merger."
