Natural resource development company Premier African Minerals Limited (LON:PREM) has reported that the plant upgrades at the RHA Tungsten project were now installed and operational.

The group holds a 49% interest in the Zimbabwe tungsten deposit where screens, plant modifications and electrical reticulation works have been completed.

Test work carried out on bulk samples (XRT) from the deposit back in May were re-run at the advice of the equipment provider and confirmed the results previously achieved.

The equipment provider confirmed the sort achieved a near 100% recovery, according to chief executive George Roach.

Wolframite concentrate from ore has also been produced, revealed the group.

The plant is undergoing a phased commissioning and optimisation process to achieve the anticipated recoveries and operational throughput of 16 tonnes per hour.

“Premier is reassessing the pit capacity to meet the minimum tonnage XRT sorting will require and expects to be in a position to progress this in early August,” said Roach.
