New MD for Venture Minerals to push development at Mt Lindsay, Tasmania

Wednesday, April 01, 2009

Venture Minerals (ASX:VMS) has announced the appointment of Hamish Halliday as the Company’s new Managing Director effective 1 April 2009.

Mr Halliday is a Co‐Founder and a major shareholder of Venture, and has been involved in the management of the Company since its inception.

Prior to Venture Minerals, Mr Halliday was the Managing Director of Adamus Resources (ASX:ADU), a company he founded and listed in 2001. During his six years with Adamus, Mr Halliday oversaw the discovery of the Southern Ashanti Gold Project, a multi million ounce gold deposit in Ghana, West Africa.

Mr Halliday is also Co‐Founder of Gryphon Minerals (ASX:GRY), an ASX listed and very successful gold exploration company currently defining a major gold deposit in Burkina Faso, West Africa.

Mr Halliday’s new role will see him draw on many years of experience in the resources sector including excellent exposure to both local and international capital markets. Mr Halliday believes “Venture’s Mt Lindsay Project possesses all the hallmarks of a substantial new mineral discovery, which has the potential to deliver significant value to shareholders over the medium term”.

In conjunction with Mr Halliday’s appointment Mr Radonjic, the current Managing Director, will assume the role of Technical Director.
