Thundelarra Exploration (ASX: THX) is an established Australian resources company primarily focused on uranium exploration and development in the Northern Territory.
The Company holds dominant tenement positions in the Pine Creek and the Ngalia Basin uranium provinces with a total area in excess of 6,000 sq km. Thundelarra has achieved significant exploration success on its Northern Territory properties, particularly in the Pine Creek region where several new uranium occurrences have been identified, including the Thunderball prospect where drilling has delivered a number of very high grade uranium intercepts.
The Company has a number of assets in addition to its Northern Territory interests, including; three highly prospective uranium projects in Western Australia and one in Queensland.
Thundelarra Exploration recommences uranium drilling at Pine Creek Orogen
Thundelarra Exploration (ASX: THX) has recommenced uranium drilling in the Pine Creek Orogen in the Northern Territory, with a 5,500 metre RC program starting at the Hayes Creek project.
Five prospects will be tested in the program, including the follow up of high grade intercepts produced during the last phase of drilling at Bella Rose: 6m at 1,415 ppm U3O8; and Mt Osborne South: 2m at 971 ppm U3O8.
The other three targets are as yet untested by drilling, but host high order radiometric anomalies coincident with significant structural features according to Thundelarra.
In other news, data from the last round of drilling at the Thunderball prospect is being evaluated.
Highlights from Thunderball announced in late September included:
- TPCRD069: 7.85 metres at 5,901 ppm U3O8 including 1 metre at 2.5% U3O8; and
- TPCRD093: 15 metres at 8,633 ppm U3O8 including 9 metres at 1.4% U3O8 including 1 metre at 11.3% U3O8.
Thundelarra said it was likely that additional diamond core holes will be drilled to help define the northern limit of high grade mineralisation, prior to undertaking a resource estimation at the end of the field season.
Drilling is also continuing at the Ngalia Basin project in central Australia where earlier this year hole THG006MD intersected paleochannel style uranium mineralisation.
At the Allamber project, interpretation of geophysical data, geological mapping and previous drill results has generated several priority targets that will be evaluated with a 3,500 metre RC drilling program scheduled to commence next week.
Thundelarra will have four drilling rigs in operation by next week, including the RC drill currently at work on the Red Bore copper-gold project.
