Northern Mining to put drill to hole at East Kalgoorlie Project

Australian-listed Northern Mining (ASX: NMI) is preparing to kick off a 5,0000 metre RAB drilling programme in the 2.4km intervening area between the Northern Zone and George’s Reward of the Blair North Prospect near Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.

The programme is designed for detailed testing of the potential gold bearing trend between the two discrete zones of mineralisation.

Extensive, widespread gold intersections are open in all directions, centred 2,400m due north of George’s Reward.

Coarse, free gold is open at depth and along strike.

The program will be followed up immediately with RC drilling to test areas of gold enrichment defined by the RAB programmes. The RC drilling will also test targets arising from the recent RC programme at the Northern Zone where extensive, widespread gold intersections open in all directions, were identified.

The final hole of the November RC programme was drilled at Kanowna Lights, situated 4 kilometres northwest of the Kanowna Belle gold mine. This hole was designed to test the continuity of shallow bedrock mineralisation at the contact between felsic porphyry and basalt and intersected 2 metres @ 1.1 g/t at shallow depth.

Four new drill holes are planned at Kanowna Lights for the upcoming drilling programme. These will be drilled to follow up historic intersections to test the potential for shallow gold mineralisation with open pit potential.

Drilling will also be carried out at the Blair Prospect where encouraging nickel and gold trends from previous RABm programmes will be followed up.
