Uranium SA triples uranium resource in South Australia
South Australian based explorer Uranium SA (ASX: USA) has tripled the inferred mineral resource to 38.7 million tonnes at the Blackbush Prospect, within its Mullaquana Uranium Project, located on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula.
The prospect is now estimated to contain 10,400 tonnes (22.9 million pounds) of uranium mineralisation, U3O8, with an average grade of 275 ppm, with an average intersection mineralised thickness of 11.85 metres.
The Uranium SA Board stated that remains confident the Mullaquana Project will evolve from a greenfield discovery into a uranium asset, as the inventory of potentially economic mineralisation continues to grow.
The new resource estimate is based on results obtained from rotary mud drilling on a 100m to 200m pattern across the prospect.
A total of 160 drill holes were used in the resource estimate out of a total of 223 drilled rotary mud and core holes.
Mineralisation commences at an average depth of 53m.
